Amazing Life with Retiring In-Colors

Each year, Stampin’ Up brings out new In-Colors.  They are on-trend and exciting, and oooohhh, how we love them so.  We even get to keep them around for two years, but then they retire… so sad.  BUT, at the same time we get NEW colors in their place to love so our color line is unique and always on-trend!
Amazing Life - In Colors

For this card, I wanted to highlight our retiring In-Colors, Powder Pink, Tranquil Tide, Fresh Fig, Berry Burst, and Lemon Lime Twist.  I chose to showcase how these colors coordinate together, and how simple it is to put a wow into a card just by combining our exclusive colors!

I stamped the largest sentiment in the stamp set in Black Stazon and then just colored the letters and the banner in with my In-Color markers.  Such a simple process… add some ribbon and a few sequins for some sparkle, and VOILA’.  These colors are still available, but only until June 3rd, so get them now before they are gone for good!

Oh, and you see those black smudges, welllll… that’s not gunk on your screen, that is on my card.  That is what happens when its late at night and you’re so focused on your coloring that you neglect to check your fingers for ink…. sigh…. Some people may be embarrassed about that, and refuse to show it off or showcase it, BUT NOT ME!  As I always say: “If you want perfect, you go to Hallmark, if you want awesome, you go handmade”!  That is why I call my blog Stampin Awesome… because the cards and projects arent always perfect, but they are AWESOME because they are HANDMADE!  And guess what?  Nobody I’ve ever given a card to has EVER returned it or smirked that it had a smudge on it… they immediately recognize that it is handmade and because of that, they know it’s awesome and love it even more!

Sale-a-Brating Lovely Lattice

Last Day to Sale-a-Brate!

It is the last day of Sale-a-Bration and so I wanted to feature some additional ideas using our wonderful Sale-a-Bration stamp sets.  The first, I think has quickly became one of my favorites, the Lovely Lattice.

Lovely Lattice 2

Lovely Lattice Close Up

I created this card using a new technique with my Stamparatus.  Note, that you cannot do this technique without a stamp positioning tool!  This card uses very few supplies although it looks like you used 8 different ink colors, it uses only 3!

First, I inked the entire image up with my Daffodil Delight and Stamped:

Lovely Lattice Step 1

Then, I randomly applied Lovely Lipstick to my stamp in various spots, and stamped again.  Since my paper and originally stamped image had not moved on the Stamparatus base, and my stamp was still in the same position on the Stamparatus plate, I could easily stamp directly over my original image and have perfect alignment.  AND, if we remember what we learned in 1st grade art class, yellow and red make orange… so… this is what I now have, pretty cool, huh?:

Lovely Lattice Step 2

But, we can’t just stop there… well, we could, but that wouldn’t be as much fun.  So, I added a third color, Bermuda Bay.  I randomly inked spots on my stamp, and stamped over my image a 3rd time.  Back to our 1st grade art class where yellow and blue make green, and red and blue make purple… we get this:

Lovely Lattice 3

You can always go back over the stamp and apply more Lovely Lipstick or Bermuda Bay in places to get the look you want.  But this is such a cool technique, and NO two cards will be exactly alike!

The Lovely Lattice set does not contain any sentiments, so I added my sentiment from the Dear Doily stamp set and punched it out with my 1 1/2″ Circle Punch, and layered it on a 1 3/8″ Scallop Circle in Bermuda Bay.

Again, this technique could not have been accomplished without my Stamparatus.  If you would like to get the Lovely Lattice stamp set, you can earn it FREE with the purchase of Stamparatus, or any other items totaling $50!  WOW!  But hurry, this stamp set is only available until midnight TONIGHT!

Well Said Birdie

Well Said framelits Today’s card was designed using our wonderful Well Said bundle in the Occasions Catalog.  I was lucky that I received the stamp set when I attended Stampin’ Up’s OnStage event held in Orlando.  (Psst… if you join, you can win attend these events too and win awesome stuff!).

There are 24 dies in this bundle and 51 stamps… thats a LOT of phrases and combinations you can make, just think of all the possibilities.  And the mix of scripted and plain text sentiments is all the rage right now, and let’s face it, its a good rage!

The key to this card is using the adhesive sheets when running your pieces through the Big Shot.  It makes the assembly so quick and easy… just like peeling and applying stickers.  The alternative would be to use our tombow glue with a sponge and apply, but that makes a mess… and of course you could always use our fine tip glue… but why in the world would we want to??  The adhesive sheets are fabulous and a must-have if you get this bundle – trust me, its worth it!

Dont forget this is the last week of Sale-a-Bration too!  So, if you purchase the bundle, and the adhesive sheets, you will earn a FREE Sale-a-Bration stamp set… and if you add $13.50 in product to your order, you can earn 2 FREE Sale-a-Bration items, or a Level 2 item!  You do NOT want to miss out on getting FREE stuff!

You can see and purchase all of the items I used by clicking on them below and adding them to your order.  My online store is ALWAYS open for business, 24 x 7.
